The contest is a fun cooking competition where kids compete by submitting an original recipe featuring a locally grown, raised, or caught product, alongside a completed dish photo and a 2-4 minute video demonstrating the recipe. A panel of judges review the recipes and videos and select the top three (3) recipes from two grade categories: Grades 4-8 and 9-12.

The contest launches August 15 and runs through September 15, 2022.
The top three finalists in each age category will be invited to prepare their dish LIVE in front of an audience and present their dish for tasting and scoring by three chef judges at the Hawai'i Gas Presents Localicious® Recipe & Video Contest Cookoff event in Honolulu, Hawai'i. The six (6) finalists will be notified in September and will be invited to participate in the Final Cookoff event at Hawai'i Gas Presents Localicious® Recipe & Video Contest Cookoff event in Honolulu, Hawai on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Each finalist will receive a $50 gift card to purchase ingredients needed for the final cookoff. Celebrity chefs will serve as judges and determine the winners in each category.
