End of Year Celebration Information
Aloha CKMS Ohana,
As the school year 2024-2025 draws to a close, we have some exciting updates regarding end-of-year celebrations for our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students!
Celebrating Our 6th & 7th Graders!
We're thrilled to announce upcoming celebratory events to honor the hard work and dedication of our 6th and 7th-grade students throughout the year. These events are designed to be enjoyable and safe for everyone.
To ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere, we have established a few important guidelines for participation. Please note that students who meet any of the following criteria may not be permitted to attend the end-of-year events:
- Attendance: Any unexcused full-day absences in the last two weeks of the quarter.
- Academic Performance: Failing grades in any classes during the last two weeks of the quarter.
- Behavioral Conduct: Any Class A, B, or C referrals, or more than one Class D referral.
- Suspension: Any in-school or out-of-school suspension from March 31, 2025, onwards.
- Off-Campus Inappropriate Conduct: Engaging in inappropriate conduct off-campus that creates conflict on campus.
We believe these guidelines are essential for maintaining a positive environment for all our students. We appreciate your support in ensuring these celebrations are memorable for the right reasons!
For students who are unable to attend the celebratory events due to disciplinary reasons, we have arranged for them to participate in engaging SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) classroom activities instead.
8th Grade Luncheon - A Time to Celebrate!
Our 8th-grade teachers are busy planning the annual end-of-the-year luncheon, which will take place on May 30, 2025. This luncheon is a long-standing tradition at CKMS, celebrating the culmination of our 8th graders' middle school journey and providing an opportunity for them to display positive behavior outside of the classroom.
Important Reminders for the 8th Grade Luncheon:
- This event is for 8th-grade students only.
- The luncheon is not a graduation ceremony or prom.
- Students are welcome to wear their school uniform if they choose.
- For those who wish to dress up, suggested attire for girls includes a dress, skirt, or pants. For boys, a collared shirt, pants, and shoes are suggested, with a tie being optional.
- Please remember that CKMS School Uniform Rules will be enforced, and continued non-compliance may result in disciplinary action according to Chapter 19 and school guidelines. School administrators have the final say on dress code matters.
We look forward to celebrating the achievements of all our students as the school year comes to a close!
