Congratulations to all of our spelling bee participants this year for a job well done! 33 students courageously took part in our annual spelling bee and two students made it through 13 rounds to get to the end. Congratulations go out to 6th grader Haley Arakaki for taking 1st place, and 7th grader Matthew Rivera for being our runner up. Both students will represent CKMS in the Kauai District Spelling Bee coming up later this year. We also want to thank teachers Beth Britton and Ashten Metcalfe for tutoring our students during recess and lunch over the past several weeks and for organizing our bee!
We need your help as we proceed with our WASC accreditation self-study. Please use the following link for more information on WASC and an opportunity to give input: https://goo.gl/hEKJ4j There will be a WASC meeting on November 22 in the CKMS Library from 2-3pm. All are invited to attend.
School portrait make-ups are scheduled for Thursday, November 10th. Info will be sent home shortly but mark your calendars. Students not wanting to use their school uniform will have to bring their clothes for their picture in a bag that they can then change into in the library before taking their photo. They will not be able to use these clothes during the rest of the day.
