With personal electronics an everyday part of our students' lives, it's impossible to ignore. Family dinners have gone silent while each family member is on his/her own device. Conversations that used to happen in the car on the way to school are non-existent as students are more engaged with who commented or liked their social media post than talking to mom or dad. If this sounds familiar and you'd like to do something about it, you can attend a screening of the movie "Screenagers" being presented at the KCC Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 6:30 pm. Pre-sale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets purchased at the door are $10 for adults and $7 for students (cash only). You can see more information about the movie here. SCREENAGERS probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including the director’s own, and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through surprising insights from authors and neuro- scientists, solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world
